Your main objective will be to provide assistance with coordinating production, in order to deliver plan and budget requirements in a safely and timely manner. You will also enjoy being involved in project and business improvement areas.
Your key responsibilities will involve:
- Assisting the Production Superintendent in the delivery of production requirements and timely escalation of production issues.
- Knowing the mine plan and assisting in reinforcing this message to the Team Leaders.
- Identifying potential problems with the plan and developing contingency options.
- Assisting with business improvement projects.
- Managing and facilitating projects as directed to result in cost savings for the business.
- Contractor liaison work.
- Conducting site inspections and routine audits to enforce compliance with HSEC Standards, Policies, Rules and Work Procedures.
- Relieving the Open Cut Examiners on site as required.
To be considered for this position you will need to have:
- Strong technical and commercial understanding of engineering in the mining industry.
- Ideally 3-5 years mining experience, with proven experience in a similar role.
- Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills.
- A strong emphasis on mine safety.
- Exposure to business improvement practices is advantageous.
- Ability to work in high pressure and competing priority environments.
- Good intellect coupled with motivation and drive.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- A current NSW or QLD Open Cut Examiners Ticket.
- A proven level of competence in open cut operations.
