This is your opportunity to join a leading international company, residing in a large town located only two hours away from the New South Wales coast. This medium sized open cut coal operation produces just over 5Mt of thermal coal per annum. The site employs both dragline and truck/shovel mining methods.

Your core responsibilities will involve:

Managing a small team of Mining Engineers, whilst focusing on optimising the sites performance by providing input for the development of effective long term mine plans and designs.

You will be required to produce reports on actual production results, whilst managing and developing the engineers responsible for the development of short term plans, mine design and schedules. You will also take ownership for ensuring performance and development practices are in place for all of your direct reports.

Suitable candidates will need to possess:

Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or related discipline
Extensive experience in mine planning, scheduling and design at an open-cut coal operation
Safety standards of the highest regard
The ability to build robust working relationships
An interest in mentoring the next generation of Mining Engineers
The ability to lead a professional team
