The $43BN Gorgon gas development involves the engineering and construction of upstream and downstream infrastructure to extract and process liquefied natural gas embedded deep below the sea floor off Western Australia’s north west coast. Owned by Chevron (50%), Exxonmobil (25%) and Shell (25%), this project will be one of the largest projects ever undertaken in Australia. Gas will be extracted from subsea gas fields situated 150kms off the coast, and pumped via a 90km subsea pipeline to an onshore gas processing facility to be built on Barrow Island.
Construction is now underway on the island and it is estimated that the project will provide employment to 20,000 people over the next 5 years during the construction phase.
Stellar Recruitment is aligned with a large number of key stakeholders on this project from the owners to the engineering companies, constructors and suppliers. Throughout the Gorgon project we will be profiling exciting employment opportunities with our clients on this page.
